This course has been designed for people who are new to payroll. It covers all the basic functions from setting up the company details, entering employee records and calculating gross pay to processing the first payroll and running all the reports required including payslips and end of period reports for HMRC payments.

Sage Business Cloud Payroll Level 2 Certificate

Level 2 Computerised Payroll moves forward from Level 1. The course still includes the basic tasks of company set up, creation of employee records and calculation of gross pay. However more advanced tasks are undertaken including Statutory Maternity Pay, Starters and Leavers, The Cost of Wages, HMRC submissions, Pension Schemes for Automatic Enrolment, Data Security and Year End Processes.

This course is ideal for people who have completed the Sage Business Cloud Computerised Payroll Level 1 qualification or who have some understanding of payroll functions and want to learn how to complete more advanced tasks, such as calculating statutory sick pay, statutory maternity pay and pension schemes, and more.

Sage have developed the course to give you the most up to date skills required by employers, or learn how to run the payroll system for your own business. This will save time and money, particularly if payroll tasks are usually outsourced to an accountant.

Learn how to:

  • Set up company accounts, generate employee records and complete basic daily payroll functions

Sage Business Cloud Payroll Level 3 Certificate

Level 3 Computerised Payroll moves forward from Level 2. The course still includes the basic tasks of company set up, creation of employee records and calculation of gross pay. However more advanced tasks are undertaken including Salary Sacrifice Schemes, Statutory Adoption, Paternity and Maternity Pay, Payroll Verification and Reconciliation, Advance Pay and Holiday Schemes, Termination of Employment including Redundancy, Advanced Data Security, HMRC submissions, Year End Processing and Business Closure.

This level three Sage business cloud course is for students who are already employed in payroll or have similar job roles or run their own business. It is aimed at people who wish to enhance their existing knowledge and skills to perform advanced routine and non-routine tasks using a computerised payroll package.

This course should not be attempted unless you have achieved a qualification at Level 2 or have sound knowledge of day-to-day payroll functions including processing SSP and SMP.

  • Enter voluntary and statutory additions and deductions
  • Process the payroll for different periods including the correction of errors
  • Produce reports to enable reconciliation of payments and deductions to external agencies including HMRC and pension providers
  • Operate national insurance for directors
  • Maintain payroll data and system security
