Endo Buddies CIO is a supportive and inclusive charity dedicated to supporting people affected by endometriosis.

Founded in 2019 by Katy, Endo Buddies was created in response to the lack of support, understanding, and accessible information available to those living with endometriosis.

We are passionate about ensuring nobody faces endometriosis alone. We do this through awareness, wellbeing support, education, community events, and digital inclusion projects.

Role Overview

As the Treasurer Trustee for Endo Buddies CIO, you will play a key role in overseeing the financial affairs of the organisation. You will help ensure financial sustainability, maintain transparent financial reporting, and provide strategic financial guidance to support the charity’s mission.

You will work closely with the Board of Trustees and the leadership team to support sound financial decision-making and good charity governance.

Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Oversight

• Ensure Endo Buddies operates within its financial means and maintains a strong financial position.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes in line with the charity’s strategic goals.
• Monitor cash flow and financial risks, advising the Board of Trustees on suitable mitigation strategies.

Governance and Compliance

• Ensure financial policies and procedures comply with legal, regulatory, and charity governance requirements.
• Oversee the preparation and submission of statutory financial reports, including Charity Commission filings.
• Liaise with external auditors, accountants, and regulators to support financial compliance.

Reporting and Accountability

• Present clear and accurate financial reports to the Board of Trustees.
• Provide financial analysis to support strategic planning and organisational growth.
• Keep the Board informed of financial risks, opportunities, and required actions.

Fundraising and Resource Management

• Support fundraising efforts by ensuring financial sustainability and accountability for grants and donations.
• Oversee the management of restricted and unrestricted funds to maximise impact.
• Advise on investment and resource allocation to support long-term stability.

Person Specification

• Strong financial acumen with experience in finance, accounting, tax regulations, or charity financial management.
• Previous experience as a Treasurer, Finance Manager, or Accountant, preferably within the charity sector.
• Understanding of charity financial governance, including Charity Commission regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
• Strong negotiation, decision-making, and leadership skills.
• Good knowledge of different methods of raising capital.
• Ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear and accessible way.
