Bookkeeping Week

 

Review of Debits and Credits: Monday 22/04/2024 – 5.30pm 

An introduction to double entry, with explanations and working examples of a variety of transactions where we will explore the individual debit and credit entries.  Learners will be able to record financial transactions and understand the impact of their actions on the ledger accounts of a business.

 

Double Entry Bookkeeping & Trial Balance: Tuesday 23/04/2024 – 5.30pm

In this session we will look at posting transactions to the main ledgers, balancing off the accounts and then enter the balances in to the trial balance. Learners will be able see why the balancing of the accounts is important to the preparation of the trial balance which is needed to start the production of the financial statements.

 

Cashbook & Bank Reconciliation: Wednesday 24/04/2024 – 5.30pm

A session on recording receipts and payments into the cashbook and balancing of the cashbook. This session will focus on the 2 column cashbook and progress on to, updating the cashbook from the bank statement and preparing the bank reconciliation statement.

 

Journals & Suspense Account: Thursday 25/04/2024 – 5.30pm

A session which will explore the possible reasons for a suspense account balance, whilst equipping learners with the knowledge and skills to be able to process journals to ensure the suspense account is cleared in advance of trial balance completion.
