AAT 2010 SYLLABUS CHANGE
On 1st July 2010 the AAT launches a new qualification to replace both the existing NVQ route and Diploma Pathway.
Information on the full detail behind the new qualification are not yet available but the headlines are as follows:
- New students registering from 1st July 2010 will have to follow the route of the new Qualification Students who are currently studying under the current NVQ and Diploma pathways will have a window of 18 months to continue under these pathways in order to either complete the full qualification or finish a level to ensure a smooth transition to the new qualification.
- There will however be a system for obtaining credit for any units achieved in the current qualification, allowing students to transfer to the new qualification mid level. However, looking at the credit system it would appear that students will be better off trying to complete their current level in the timeframe rather than transferring mid level. Premier Training will be offering some courses under the existing pathways, at least until December 2010 to allow students to complete their current level.
- There will be an increase in the amount of Computer Based Assessment within the qualification, following on from the recent introduction of CBEs for the Level 2 and Level 3 exams.
- Each unit will only be assessed by one method, which in some cases is different from the current structure of certain units being assessed both by exam and simulation/work based evidence.
Premier Training is constantly monitoring the information released by the AAT in order to provide guidance both to our current students and employers and to anyone else interested in finding out more about the new qualification. Once the detail behind each of the units is available we will announce our proposed course structures and how they will differ from our current course offerings.
