See what prospects are available!
The demand for trained bookkeepers and payroll administrators continues to grow. Open any newspaper in the country and you will find vacancies for bookkeepers and payroll clerks. There is an increasing need for companies to keep control of their finances. The demand for bookkeeping skills has also meant that the average salaries and fees for bookkeeping services continues to rise. It is not uncommon for self-employed bookkeepers working at rates of £35 per hour; in London the rate is much higher.
There are opportunities for employment in the accountancy profession, industry, hospitals, colleges/universities and the public sector. Privatisation of British industry and the introduction of self-assessment by the Inland Revenue has meant an unprecedented demand for Bookkeepers.
The increasing regulations imposed on businesses such as VAT, PAYE, income tax and NI contributions will ensure that the demand for bookkeepers and payroll agencies continues to grow.
At last you can unlock your potential!
No prior knowledge of bookkeeping, payroll or formal academic qualifications are required and there is no examination for you to complete. However access to a PC or laptop is essential!
Please note it is not necessary for you to pass any examinations in order for you to commence your own business as a bookkeeper and /or payroll manager. However there are several awarding/ professional bodies such as the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB), the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) and the International Association of Bookkeepers (IAB) that do offer examinations and the status that goes with being in a professional body.
If you wish to register as a student with one or more of these bodies then your personal Premier Training tutor will advise you of your options and the examinations you should consider taking. The course materials will prepare you for the examinations of ICB and IAB basic and intermediate levels manual and computerised, the AAT's Bookkeeping Certificate (ABC) and Pitman Bookkeeping levels 1 and 2. But as stated earlier entry for the examinations is entirely optional and many students go on to have successful businesses without ever having passed an examination!
The course is ideal for those looking for a more flexible method of training. Our approach helps you fulfil your potential, concentrating on the need to develop practical skills in a flexible learning environment.
