Intermediate Level
This course enables you to train fully for the Intermediate Level. You will cover a wide range of accounting topics and have the opportunity to develop your accounting skills through a carefully structured combination of coursework, practical tasks and activities. The study topics include:
Paper 3 - Maintaining Financial Records
- Revision of basic bookkeeping
- Accounting concepts and standards
- Advanced accounting procedures
- The treatment of stocks
- Fixed assets and depreciation
- The extended trial balance
- Incomplete records
- Club accounts, manufacturing accounts and partnerships
Paper 4 - Accounting for Costs
- Introduction to cost accounting
- Classification and behaviour of costs
- Material costs and stock control
- Labour costs and expenses
- Marginal costing and absorption costing
- Cost bookkeeping
- Job, batch, contract, process and service costing
- Data analysis
Before you start: you will need CAT Introductory Level or an equivalent ACCA approved qualification (such as a GNVQ Intermediate in Business) to take this course.
This course will help you:
- Get to grips with new technology
- Prepare P & L accounts and Balance Sheets for small businesses
- Learn how to control and account for material, labour and overhead costs
- Prepare you for the ACCA Intermediate Level examinations
- Gain a qualification for many jobs in accountancy e.g. Assistant Financial Accountant, Assistant Cost Accountant etc.
